Flight passenger? Share a taxi from airport to city worldwide

94% of flight passengers going to any big city in the world will go to downtown upon landing.

Many of them will use a taxi.

The majority of the taxi riders will jump the cab as a single passenger.

How about pooling together for the ride? Should save the planet and your wallet, right?

This is exactly the idea behind the Taxi Share application just released by the guys from Caribation in Santo Domingo. In order to offer (of find) a share the traveller only needs to enter two key pieces of data: the flight number and the arrival date. The on-line registration is very easy and only requires a minimum od data (no credit card numbers requested)

How does it work?

Well, their banner tells is all. After you have entered the flight and the date the system will look up in the database if there are shares available. If a match is found your just one click will let to write an email to the the other guy. If there is no match the user will be invited to be the first offeror on the flight. That's all.

Extra advantage: safety

Please note that the concept has been designed for passengers of a specific flight only. You must have a valid flight number (i.e. confirmed reservation) to enter the game. This would address some legitimate security questions. You are not going to take a taxi with a complete stranger as both parties were screened by the airline already, in addition to having exchanged emails and said Hello on the board of the plane.

On which airports can the service be used?

On any airport in the universe. Actually, the system won't even ask you for your destination city. Only flight number and the landing date are essential. Based on these two parameters the system will match the two riders and show you the email/phone contact of the other rider.

Does it cost anything?

No, at least not in 2017. And there will be no cost for persons who offer a taxi-share (to premium the initiative). Also, flight passengers form Caribation partner webs, such as HolaCuba ™ will always enjoy the service free. Starting 2021 they plan a nominal registration fee under 5% of a typical taxi fare. How much can that be? $1.00?
